In 2017, Malia was selected as one of two student-athletes to represent UMW at the NCAA's Division III Student Immersion Program in Nashville, Tennesee where the goal was to build a pipeline of ethnic minority candidates, with an interest in Division III coaching. |
As a rising senior, Malia was selected as one of 230 student-athletes across the country to participate in the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis. Malia is passionate about speaking to student-athletes about the incredible professional development opportunities that playing at a Division III level can provide, as well as the overall experience.
