KRISTIN KELLEHER
Kristin “Kristi” Kelleher is a Springfield, Virginia native and went on to play Division I collegiate softball for the Charleston Southern University Buccaneers in Charleston, South Carolina from 2008-2012. At CSU, she was utilized in the circle, first base, and the outfield and voted Big South All-Conference, Big South All-Academic Team, and nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year. She was also voted her team’s Most Valuable Player her senior year. Kristin finished her senior season at CSU leading the team in batting (.317) and on-base percentage (.438) in conference play. After graduation, Kristin stayed on with Charleston Southern as a Graduate Assistant for the softball team while studying for her Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree.
Kelleher was a four-year starter for Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia from 2004-2008. While at BI, Kelleher was a two-time 1st Team All-State selection and a three time 1st Team All-Conference selection, as well as earning Washington Post Honorable Mention All-Met honors. |
Kristi Kelleher finished her high school career with a .455 batting average while pitching three no-hitters and one perfect game in her senior season. She also set the school record with 17 strikeouts in one game. She played for Coach Mark Anderson and the 18U Virginia Stars Gold.
Coaching philosophy: "Control the controllables. Bad hops happen. Umpireswill blow calls. But your effort and attitude are two things that should never waiver no matter what situation is thrown at you."
Kelleher currently lives in Fairfax with her cat, Genny (aka ReGenny George), and works full-time as a government contractor.
