MEGAN RALSTON Originally from Pennsylvania, Megan Blank Ralston moved to Northern Virginia when she was recruited to play Division I softball for George Mason University. Megan started for four years on the softball field at Mason and earned an All-CAA Second Team selection. During her athletic career, she contributed to major program wins, including defeating top 25 ranked Hofstra. She graduated with academic honors and went on to earn her Master’s Degree, also with academic honors from Mason.
After competing as a student-athlete, Megan went on to become Assistant Coach from 2014-2016 at her alma mater after the athletic program moved to the Atlantic 10 conference. During her time as Assistant Coach, the softball team made its first postseason appearance, competing in the semi-finals of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship and earning numerous First, Second, All-Rookie, and All-Academic selections. In high school, Megan earned numerous awards as an athlete, including All-State, First-Team All-League, Second-Team All-League, Honorable Mention, Academic Honors, and was honored as L-L League alumni after graduating and starting her career at Mason. |
Megan’s coaching career first started in high school, where she worked with younger players at clinics and practices. She continued to teach young softball players as a student-athlete and coach at George Mason Softball Camps, and has been giving private lessons to players of all ages since 2013.
Some of Megan’s favorite things about coaching are sharing her passion for the game with younger players and watching the “light bulb” moments when players figure out a new facet of their swings. While she enjoys working with all types of hitters, she especially enjoys helping players find strength in their swings and helping struggling hitters find confidence in the offensive side of softball.
Megan is recently married and lives with her husband in Reston. She currently works full-time in Purcellville, managing over 80 administrative staff and education faculty.
